Competition Rules

Objective

- Cultivating creative talents and encouraging a healthy interest in robotics through a process of actualizing various ideas on developing a unique robot platform based on infinite imagination.

Qualification

- There’s no age and qualification limit for participants, and teams of 1 person (individual) or 2 to 3 persons are also possible. There is no limit to the number of entries, and the winner can re-enter the competition with another creation the following month.

Registration

- The entry must be a creation using an existing robot kit, DYNAMIXELs, or a third party hardware (3D printed materials, sensors etc).
[Originality Clause] The entry submitted for the STEAM CUP Online must be unique and original, and all intellectual property must be owned by the entry submitter. If the submission turns out to be in violation of the Originality Clause, the winner will be disqualified and must return all awards and prizes to STEAM Education Association.
- The Intellectual Property of entries submitted in the STEAM CUP Online Competition is owned by the submitter. However, STEAM Education Association and the sponsoring organizations reserve the right to use the entry for the sole purpose of community awareness and outreach of STEAM Education Association.
- The participants upload their entries to the STEAM CUP Online Competition Submission Board (Submit my Robot). However, if there are circumstances which prevent the participants from posting their own entry on the website, a representative such as an instructor or coach can post it on their behalf by including the original participant’s name.
- Participants must include their name, the name of the robot, main features, upload photos and videos of the robot (please see below).

- Upload your video on YouTube and copy the link to register. (See below for upload format)

* There are no restrictions on the types, materials and size of the robot. However any robot creation that may pose a safety hazard are prohibited.
* There are no restrictions on topics of robot creations. However if the content contains any material which may promote violence, cruelty, discrimination and/or offend other, the posting will be rejected from the STEAM Education Association.

Standards and Topics for Robot

- There are no restrictions on the types, materials and size of the robot. However any robot creation that may pose a safety hazard are prohibited.

Judging Process

The robot submitted on the Submission board (STEAM Education Association website) will be judged considering the following criterias : Creativity / Technology / Entertainment from the 1st to the last day of each month.

Monthly Awards

- Awards may change depending on the number of submissions per month.
- If several people participate as a team, Prize will be given to only one team leader, and the award certificate will be provided individually according to the number of people.
